The bulk of this wax is collected from beekeepers in the Pacific Northwest, including British Columbia. The crops in this region are grown with the lowest pesticide use around. The colored beeswax candles are dyed with eco-friendly dyes that do not contain hazardous solvents or additives such as naphtha or naphthalene. The dyes are never tested on animals. All of the candles are handmade, and the beeswax is never 100% consistent in shade, so there may be variations in color.

Beeswax, the purest of all candle waxes, is a product of the sustainable industry of beekeeping. The simple filtration of beeswax is a natural process that uses no chemicals and very little energy. All of our wicks are made of 100% cotton and have been primed with beeswax, not paraffin.

Fun Fact

Did you know the difference between beeswax birthday candles and paraffin candles. Beeswax burn significantly longer than paraffin candles, often burning 2 to 5 times longer for the same size. This is because beeswax has a higher melting point and a denser structure, causing it to burn more slowly. For example, a paraffin birthday candle might last for 5–7 minutes, while a standard beeswax birthday candle can last about 15 minutes or more. Hence beeswax candles always cost more than paraffin candles.
